Surround yourself with positive people,
energy, and situations;
always avoid negativity.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So, love the people who treat you right.

Forgive, and then forget about the ones who don't.

Versatile Blogger Award

I received this cool award from Liz at Ninny's Notes. Liz is certainly versatile, creative, and one of the most energetic people in the world.

In accepting this award, I'm required to reveal 7 things about myself that my readers don't know.
That will difficult for me, as I have no secrets, and some of my readers have known me most of my life, right SH and SWV?

1. My first spoken word was not, "mama" or "papa".
It was "puppy".
(No, big surprise there, huh?)

2. I was a thumb sucker as a child.
(I have the overbite to prove it.)

3. I've seen the movie Camelot, with Richard Harris and Vanessa Redgrave, at least 20 times.
(Franco Nero was so hot as Lancelot.)

4. My favorite fragrance is gardenias.
(Despite the fact that my college roommate bathed in Jungle Gardenia, right SWV?)

 5. I'm a procrastinator.
(This has developed since I've retired, hmmm?)

6. I have a weakness for Little Debbie Swiss Cakes.
(When I see round hay bales, I think "Swiss Cakes!")

7. Johnny Mathis is my favorite singer.
(Hubby and I saw his Christmas show at the Fabulous Fox Theater several years ago.
An amazing evening!)

*****
Remington's Mom just informed me that today is Johnny's 75th birthday! (Thanx, Beth!)
Happy Birthday Johnny!
~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you, Liz, for sharing this fun award. I would like to pass it on to anyone who has not yet received it and would like to accept.
And now, I will leave you with one of Johnny's best.
Enjoy!
Watching my dogs enjoy each other's company gives me immense pleasure.
No Leaf Peeping Yet
Although the calendar says Fall,
we would like to announce:
The leaves have NOT started changing colors in North Georgia yet, so
DON'T COME UP HERE
and get in Rama's way!
She was not happy when she came home from Wally World yesterday due to all the traffic!
Thank you!
(Just not quite yet...)
Sassy Says
Want some whiskey in your water?
Sugar in your tea?
What's all these crazy questions they're askin' me?
This is the craziest party that could ever be.
Don't turn on the lights 'cause I don't wanna see.
Mama told me not to come!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This week's musical memory from my senior year of high school...

Three Dog Night's version of Mamma Told Me Not to Come, written by Randy Newman, made it to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July 1970. This version has the distinction of being the first number-one song on the American Top 40 countdown show with longtime host Casey Kasem.
Raise your hand if you remember Casey Kasem.

Twink's Tongue Contest

My tiniest furiend, Twinkie, is having a cool contest to celebrate National Dog Week!!!

All you gotta do is stick out your tongue.

(Apparently, Twink's mom has some fascination with dogs' tongues.
But you didn't hear that from me, okay?)

Read all about this fun contest here.
Oh yeah, the winners receive coupons for Yoghund.
Yummers!!!!

Kit here:
I had a comment yesterday regarding Buddy's missing canine teeth.
Buddy only has one canine tooth (upper right), and is missing several other teeth. Our vet said that sometimes dogs lose teeth due to stress from shelter life.
Has anyone else heard this theory?
Nonetheless, his happy face makes me smile everyday.

I hope this makes you smile.
I received it from my sweet niece, Melissa!

Drive around for 20 minutes.

Monday's Memory

We haven't seen any bears this summer, which is a good thing for both humans and bears.

Sassy and I haven't forgotten this visitor from last September.

I think I got a couple shots of a Bald Eagle at Lake Hartwell last week.
What do you think?

Kit here: Forty years ago, I was beginning my senior year of high school in Savannah, Ga.
As I reflect on this time, I am flooded with recollections and emotions.

Music evokes strong memories, like a soundtrack to our lives.
Each Friday I will share one of my favorite songs from that period.

David Gates and Bread held Billboard's #1 spot the week of August 22, 1970.
