Mom looked out the kitchen window
and saw this on the garage roof!


Sneaky Black Snake was headed to the Northern Cardinals' nest in the pyracantha.


Dad was successful in sending the snake in another direction this time,
but I fear the eggs' days are numbered.


Yes, we are all watching our step when out in the yard!

(Hey Ina, aren't you glad you live in Alaska w/ no snakes?)

Mom apologizes for being MIA from commenting on blogs. Since she got a good Dr.'s report she has been trying to do 3 weeks' worth of yardwork and spring cleaning in 3 days.
Hopefully, she'll get caught up soon.

    Actually we like snakes but mostly cute little green ones that catch insects.

    Okay, one word...YIKES!!!! I've seen snakes in the trees, but never on the roof!!! THANKS for giving me yet another place to worry about the being and for reminding me again of why anyone who lives in Alaska has it made!!! Maybe I should move back there!! :-)))

    I am beside myself afraid of that snake. It is so huge I think it could be at your house and mine at the same time! That is why one should live where the ground freezes solid in the winter.

    Whoa, that was some snake on the roof. I am happy we don't have those where I live. If my mom ever saw something like that on our roof we would probably have to move. :)

    Oh no, we never like those cold-blooded, skin-shedded, slimy and sneaky snakes. Glad your dad managed to get rid of it at last. Phew!!!

    Hi Kit,
    WE have them here too. All the bird houses we have put up now have squirrel guard on them b/c it keeps the snakes away too. I had one on my patio yesterday. A snake that is!!!! lol
    I miss when we don't talk everyday.

    Yikes...I would've screamed and screamed to see that snake on my roof! Needless to say, I am afraid of snakes and it sounds like you are braver than I am!
    I am glad you are feeling much better after the appendectomy and I am sure your pups are taking good care of you as you recover!

    OMD! That is one super long snake! It gives Mom the shivers. Do you worry about them getting in your house at all? Mom's grandma used to have one that stayed in her basement and she just left him there because he took care of the mice!
    Happy Mother's Day! And good to hear you are doing better but don't push it you still need to rest.
