GBBC

We're participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count this weekend.

Sas and I are helping Rama identify and count the birdies.

There's a Black-capped Chickadee.
So cute and perky.

Oh, Look! I see 3 Goldfinches.
They love the thistle!

Wake me when you're finished, please.

  1. Oh such beautiful and helpful pups! You're supposed to be counting birds, not sheep! Keep those eyes open!

  2. We have been watching the birds too - too many to count, they keep flying off and coming back. Yesterday they were so busy! What was your count?

  3. Oh My Dog!We really admire your resilience and patience. You actually sat there and counted birds?

  4. Great job counting. We saw a few robins and one big glen eagle - but we had our eyes set on rabbits instead.

  5. The Herd only helps to reduce the count and don't think that would be considered helpful.

  6. What a fun thingy to do.. I can't count high enough to do the birds in my yard though. Today I saw 3 robins and a BUNCH of Redwinged Blackbirds. No finches today.. butt some yesterday.

  9. MOL Sassy and Zack you are the best little helpers a Mom could ever have. Mom says she wishes she was sitting right there with you all counting birds.

It is windy but nice here. Mom and Dad have been in the yard and I've been snoopervising from the perch.

  10. Well, not the most thrilling activity, but something to pass the time for sure. What's with Buddy's photo in the header? Look at that labratongue.

  21. Sassy and Zack, you are the cutest canine bird counters I've seen!
So alert and you even know the kinds of birds on your deck!

I love to chase the doves, but Mom says, "no chasing the birds!"

Thanks for the good words, I'm doing better! Hopefully in a week the vet will take off this darn cone and stitches! I hope, I hope, I hope!

  24. Our birds are slowly coming back....it's nesting time and I love that! Robins, mockingbirds, cardinals, and oh yes, a chicken. She survived below zero temps and I am amazed at her hardiness. Now, if she can just avoid being blown away by a tornado this spring. Thanks for your sweet thoughts while The Hub was in the hospital. He is on the mend, and everyday I see his personality come back to life.
