Sassy's Pawdicure

Hey Dad,
 my nails are getting long.

Could you give me a hand?

That's it, just a little trim,

and file to make them smooth.

Ooooo, that tickles.

Now for the finishing touch...

Just perfect!
teeheehee

(No, not really my paws, remember, I have the old, ugly Copperhead bite scar on my left paw!)

  11. Ughhh. . . nail trimming is a bad subject in this house. . . Molly fights me all the way, but when I take her to the groomer for a nail trim, she smiles and sits still for them. You don't suppose I'm being manipulated by a black Lab do you???

  14. Sassy, a girl can dream, right? We don't think you would really like those nails anyway - way too long and when you get digging, they would just be in the way.

Can your Dad come do our pawdicures? We have to go to the vet to get them done - Mom is afraid she would cut too short:(

  16. Fortunately, Jack walks on the sidewalks enough that we don't have to worry about his toenails.

His teeth, however, are another matter. But he likes his beef flavored toothpaste.

  17. Oh, Sassy! Tootie saw those nails and had a big ole hissy for some just like 'em! I'm thinking they would look good on human toes, too.

  18. Oh Sassy, a rattlesnake bite? How awful. Mum says we have poisonous snakes too so in summer I will have to stay on my lead when we walk. Take care all. No worries, and love, Stella

  19. I knew those weren't Sassy's toes! She was a very good girl for her pawdicure! And D did such a thorough job!

  20. If only my two would sit quietly like that, Sassy! What is your Daddy's secret? It's like wrestling a calf to do ours!

Doggy nail polish - don't they want to chew it off?

  21. hey Sassy,

It is always nice to be pampered! And I bet it was extra special to have your dad pampering his girl! :->

I did not know you got bit by a copperhead. Scary! And that is a nasty looking bite on your paw. Poor thing! I hope it is all healed and feeling fine.

  27. Tinker is coming along really very well. Happy is the problem!!! I think that Happy is not over losing Bambi. She was right there when Bambi died and she was upset about it. Tinker has not been aggressive to Happy at all. Tinker just looks at Happy and Happy freaks out!!
I think Happy will come around one day if she lives long enough.
Are you all getting ready to go to the lake soon?
    Love you all, Fern

  28. Hello

I am a dog lover and filmmaker at Columbia University in NYC and recently made a short romantic comedy about a guy who thinks his dog can talk. It is called, "Dear Dog, I Love You", and it stars a very special rescued dog.

Because of your interest in the dog community, I wondered if you might do a post to your readers about my film? We've already shot the short, but need some assistance with the post-production and therefore have started a kickstarter campaign to raise funds There are awesome rewards for donating!

Please check out the trailer and campaign here:

    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/895820041/dear-dog-i-love-you-an-awkward-love-comedy?ref=live

This is a special film because it stars the up and coming dog actor Paul Newman. A few short years ago, Paul Newman was found tied and starved in an abandoned garage. He was rescued by Suzanne Fitch of Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound Rescue, where he was matched with his wonderful trainer and caretaker, Karen. Now Paul Newman is one of the smartest and most talented dogs I know.

Because of his amazing story, we think this is a great opportunity to draw attention to the animal rescue community. Once we finish our film, we hope to share it with shelters and the rescue community in hopes that some of the proceeds made from the actual film can help support the rescue process.

I understand if you don't do these sorts of things on your blog but would appreciate any little shout out you could give. Let me know either way!

    Thanks!

    Jed
