I add a little extra sugar to the nectar recipe this time of year to provide them a bit more energy.
I'll refill the feeders before we leave Tuesday and then it's every hummer for humself. It will be quiet when we return in November, without our tiniest, feathered friends.

Happy Trails,
My Auntie Di has several she feeds...she's khalled Mom whilst they were out there and she gets all nu-nu about them!

Our Mom loves hummers - they fly so fast that we can't catch one to see if we would like it our not.
ReplyDeleteWe can't believe you will be gone for 2 whole months!! We will surely miss you and look forward to your return.

Hi Kit and crew!!!
ReplyDeleteGo DAWGS indeed...we're pulling for them. The hummers up here have turned into mega drinking machines. They are completely draining my feeder every 2 days or so. I love those little guys.

The hummers will be at my house for a time after they leave yours! SH
ReplyDeleteOur hummers are leaving fast. No one is at my feeder this morning. So sad... but I wish them a safe journey.
ReplyDeleteI love your labs. They look so sweet. We had three (one of each color) until recently when our 14 year old died. Our duo still keeps us smiling though!
I love Hummers! Can never get close enough to take pics of ours though.
ReplyDeleteCool hummers..........
ReplyDeleteKit,
ReplyDeleteWill you be coming through Boise? It would be lovely to meet you.

I'm watching GA play right now.....
ReplyDeleteWith HD, it's better than being there! :)
I love the hummingbirds! I went to see my 92-yr old grandmother a few months ago (in Scottsdale, AZ), and she had me but up a feeder outside her kitchen window!

Enjoy your holiday weekend - Wendy
It never ceases to amaze me that they will expend so much energy keeping one another away from the feeders or flowers.
