Sassy Says

Want some whiskey in your water?
Sugar in your tea?
What's all these crazy questions they're askin' me?

This is the craziest party that could ever be.
Don't turn on the lights 'cause I don't wanna see.

Mama told me not to come!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week's musical memory from my senior year of high school...
Three Dog Night's version of Mamma Told Me Not to Come, written by Randy Newman, made it to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July 1970. This version has the distinction of being the first number-one song on the American Top 40 countdown show with longtime host Casey Kasem.
Raise your hand if you remember Casey Kasem.
