OK, I'm exaggerating.
But, the night skies will be filled with "falling stars" (meteors) this week.
The Perseid Meteor Shower will peak August 12-13.
We're hoping for clear skies!

I imagine that they are beautiful out in your area since you aren't near anything! :)
You saw them???? Lucky dog. We always try to look for them, but then it is too hard with all the trees and something called ambient lighting. Oh well.

My son and I used to go sky watching at this time - blankets thrown on the driveway. because the grass was too wet. He would say "There's one!" we really enjoyed it.
I highly doubt we will see anything this year, there is so much humidity in the air this year.

You should be eating oatmeal to help your cholesterol. That is how I got started and now I would rather have it then anything and it has kept the cholesterol down!!
We walk every night at 11 to nidnight so we will look for the falling stars, thanks, Kit!!

Summertime sky watching - so much fun! Hope you are having a wonderful Summer. I smiled when I read your comment :-) poor Ernie ... he will be 12 in October and Kate's friends dogs are all under 5 and little! I was happy she took photos while we were away - we missed him!
Could you please ask those skies to send down some snow or something really cold to get rid of this heat?

Whew! You skeered me for a second there. I'm glad the sky isn't falling but I'm not too very much keen on the whole idea of a "shower" either. It's too much like a bath.
