YeeHaw!!!
Thanks for all the positive vibes!
They worked!
Dr. Noone was thrilled with my progress, and with the (drum roll, please) six pound weight loss.
(Try losing weight when you're on restricted activity.)
The x-rays show the bone is healing, and the plate and screws are all intact.
(Did y'all hear a huge sigh of relief around 11:00 AM EDT yesterday?)
We can now begin rehab, which involves three, 10 minute walks each day, progressing to 20 minutes by the time I return to vet in 6 weeks.
Dr. Noone says I should be ready for the lake by mid-August.
I'm so happy to be emancipated from the dogroom and back with my family.

Yay!! Buddy, that is such pawsome news! You did it!! We are so happy for you, and especially for the weight loss! You should write a book on how you did that; I am sure plenty of sedentary humans would like to know! BOL!
Congratulations, Buddy, on your healing progress and new walking schedule. I can't wait until August when we can see pictures of you having a blast at the lake! :->

We thought about you and your visit yesterday and now we are elated to learn that things are looking good. Congrats on the weight loss, very hard to do without being able to exercise. Take it slow and easy and follow the doctor's orders. We are truly so happy for you, Buddy.

EXCELLENT news Buddy! Glad you are "freed" but don't do anythin' stupid that might interfere with your date at the lake.
I hope you don't plan on flyin' anytime soon, that metal in your leg will get airport security a little excited.
Woofs and freed slobbers,
Chester ;0=)
Good news. When do they start swim therapy? That is when getting well becomes fun.
