Surf's Up, Dude

AJC is reporting that surfers on Tybee Island are ignoring warnings to stay out of the water and grabbing their surfboards instead.
Tropical Storm Hanna is churning up the waters, bringing 6-7 foot waves and making local surfers very happy.
Having grown up in Savannah, I know first-hand, waves that size are rare.
Despite riptides and strong winds, as one surfer said, "You gotta surf!"

Enjoy the waves from Hanna because I'm afraid Ike is going to be ugly wherever he decides to make landfall next week.
