Surround yourself with positive people,
energy, and situations;
always avoid negativity.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So, love the people who treat you right.

Forgive, and then forget about the ones who don't.

We're Baaaack!

We had a wonderful vacation and returned home tired and happy.

 Buddy did well on his "bionic leg", and to say he enjoyed himself the most would be an understatement.
As soon as Rama gets caught up on the laundry, we'll be visiting all our blogging furiends!
We've missed you!

Special Announcement

We interrupt your regularly scheduled, mundane Monday to bring you this very special announcement!

Today was my 12-week post TPLO surgery appointment!
I was kinda nervous on the ride down to Atlanta.

I reflected on all I've been through the past 12 weeks, and believe me, it has been no picnic!

The waiting for the doctor was the worst part, but I loved the fluffy rug.
Sniff, sniff, hey, another Lab was here earlier today!

Check out the cool anti-slip, waterproof vinyl floors at the vet's office.
Looks just like real hardwood, huh?
Wish we had these at home...

I'm thrilled to report Dr. Noone was all smiles, and said the words I've been waiting to hear, "Hoss, you have healed successfully, and are
 Good to Go!"
(No idea why calls me Hoss,
teeheehee!)

Did someone say,
 GO?

I know where I'm heading!!!

The kids are going back to school and it's time to reclaim the lake!
~~~~~~~~
We would like to thank Dr. Thomas Noone and the excellent, professional staff at Veterinary Referral Surgical Practice  for making it possible for Buddy to have a normal, fun-filled life once again.
Lost and Found
In the past week, Rama has lost her cell phone and prescription sunglasses.
I'm staying close by her side...
Don't want her to lose me.
~~~~~~~~

Sorry I haven't visited blogs this week.
As you can imagine, I've been preoccupied, searching for lost items. I'd had the sunglasses for 6 years and the phone even longer, so both were due for replacement.
Hubby did find my cell phone this morning, after I had purchased a new one, of course.
Happy Weekend!

Sassy's Pawdicure

Hey Dad,
 my nails are getting long.

Could you give me a hand?

That's it, just a little trim,

and file to make them smooth.

Ooooo, that tickles.

Now for the finishing touch...

Just perfect!

(No, not really my paws, remember, I have the old, ugly Copperhead bite scar on my left paw!)

Zack Here

Quick question for ya.

What do you see here?

If you said, "Puppy",

you might be spending too much time
on doggie bloggies....

Happy Weekend!

Whew, It's Hot!

(See my lips sweating?)

How hot is it, Buddy?

It's so hot....

trees are whistling for dogs.
teeheehee

(BTW, We're only outside during our walks,
then it's right back in the AC.)

~~~~
Not only do we have the heat to deal with, Hubby caught a copperhead in the junipers, right after the dogs and I had, unknowingly, walked by it!
We catch and release all snakes, squirrels. mice, etc. to a remote spot.
As I told Susu:
Catch + Release = Good Karma
Get Your Hot Nuts Here
Does anyone else remember
I bet Madi's Mom does, although she might not care to admit it....
Yep, it's hot here!!!
You can see the 3 H's (Hot, Humid, Hazy)
in this photo taken in our front yard.
Y'all, please stay safe in this dangerous heat.
Since we haven't been able to go anywhere and have fun this summer, we've been remembering all the great times we had at the lake last year.
Hopefully, we will be able to get to the lake in another month, just about the time all the kids go back to school....perfect for us retired folks!
Run Free, Sweet Cami
Cami crossed The Bridge this morning.
Cami was dearly loved
and will be sadly missed.
Cami's mom doesn't have a blog, please leave a kind word for her here.
Thank you,
~K
From Cami's mom:
Thanks to everyone for your kind words. A very special thanks to Ms.K for posting about my sweet girl. It is comforting to think of her running free. In the past six months she was not able to run as she once did, so the image of her flying through the yard with ears blown back is a happy one! A squirrel was never safe until he made it to the fence. Don't know what she would have done had she ever caught one! She was a brave little soul and a light in our lives! She loved and was loved!
Prayers for Cami, Please
Our sweet, little furiend, Cami, is having a rough day.
She had multiple seizures this morning, her mom rushed her to vet, and she is now on IV.
Please take a moment to send her some positive energy and healing thoughts.
Her mom, Susu,
and I,
 thank you.
YeeHaw!!!
Thanks for all the positive vibes!
They worked!
Dr. Noone was thrilled with my progress, and with the (drum roll, please) six pound weight loss.
(Try losing weight when you're on restricted activity.)
The x-rays show the bone is healing, and the plate and screws are all intact.
(Did y'all hear a huge sigh of relief around 11:00 AM EDT yesterday?)
We can now begin  rehab, which involves three, 10 minute walks each day, progressing to 20 minutes by the time I return to vet in 6 weeks.
Dr. Noone says I should be ready for the lake by mid-August.
I'm so happy to be emancipated from the dogroom and back with my family.
Hey, it's me,
Buddy.
I've been laying low and taking it easy since my last vet appointment, two weeks ago.
But, today is a big day for me, as
I'm having my TPLO, six-week, post-op
x-rays.
If the pictures reveal healing, then we can start rehabilitation.
If you happen to think about it, around 10:30 AM EDT, please send some positive energy my way.
Thanks!
Rama says I've been a good sport about the confinement and restricted activity.
(Like I had a choice...)
I just keep dreaming of
 days at the lake.
