Monday's Mosaic Memory ~Homecoming 1970

H.V. Jenkins High School Homecoming Parade,
Savannah, GA
~Fall, 1970

I drove a 1964 Plymouth Barracuda, (white with a black racing stripe down the middle), during my senior year of high school. My girlfriends and I decorated "Cuda for the homecoming parade with streamers, balloons and posters.

I received an invitation to my 40th reunion, which will be held next summer. I've never been to a class reunion, but I think it might be time to go...
before we're all in Hoverounds.

Oh come now. You couldn't have graduated 40 years ago. You were still in kindergarten! :)

Great pictures! My mom drove a 69 Z28 Camaro when she was in high school and she is still kicking herself for selling that car. :) Her 35th HS reunion is this November, go to yours it will be fun!

Great pic of Grandma! And what a Monday memory! I never went to a reunion either, but the 45th was nice. We had all mellowed...among other things!

I have never been to a high school reunion either. They had an all-school reunion in the town I live in. It was for everyone who graduated from that school (1950s-1970s). It was a week long event. Talent shows, parade, 80 year old in cheerleading costums ;-) etc. Dinners in lunch room. Each year did their own thing too. Sat-Sun they rented large tents for the football field and each year had their own tent.
The old school is now the alternative school.
There were several generations who all went to the same school.
That would be a fun thing to attend.

What great memories!!! Mom says she only went to one high school reunion and it was enough to last her for years. Now that she has just passed her 40th, she is wondering if maybe she has missed a lot of fun.

Have a great time.

Cool car too.

What a cool 'cuda you had back then! Yes, go to your high school reunion. I am still glowing from all the fun I had at my 40th...everyone was so happy to see one another, and it was a genuine gladness.

What fun pictures and memories!!
I didn't go to my 30th HS reunion and have been reconnecting with my classmates via Facebook--I went to lunch with one girl when I was home in Kentucky last week. While we were not real good friends in school, it was fun to get together and "remember when!" You should go--You'll have a great time and be able to see how so many of them have aged, while YOU have not!!
:-)

It is not possible that 1970 was forty years ago!!! I haven't gone to a reunion either. My friend who recently visited has found many of our classmates on Facebook and brought me up-to-date on many of them. Love the car!

I've never been to a high school reunion either, but 40th seems like a good one to go to. Hopefully, people are more sure of themselves by that one. Love the old photos. Wonder what became of the ol' Barracuda?
