Suntanned, Waterlogged, and Happy

We had so much fun at the lake, we just couldn't come home.

I have a gazillion pups photos to share, but I need some help identifying an interesting bush (in above photo) I discovered on a lake island.

The round balls are fragrant and the butterflies and bees love it.

Does anyone know the name of this beautiful plant?

~~~~~~
Thank you, Jackdaddy, for identifying the mystery plant as a Buttonbush!
I would love to have one in my yard...
Hmmm, Maybe I should take a shovel and bucket the next time we visit the island.
Very interesting and pretty bush! Glad you were able to find the name. Did the smell of the plant over come wet doggie smell? (hehe)
Sure looks like an ideal place to relax and have fun. I'd like to have a plant like that one, especially if it attracts butterflies.
I've never heard of a button bush but the name is quite appropriate.
