Sunday is for Family

Grandpa and Great Aunt Edith
Savannah, GA
~1967

My grandfather's sister, Edith, was a hoarder.
Of course 50 years ago we just referred to her as "messy."
I loved going to Aunt Edith's house.
She allowed dirty dogs in the house, shoes on the furniture, and we were always finding lost treasures under the piles of magazines and newspapers.

Aunt Edith was one of the happiest people I've ever known.
She loved people, animals, and growing beautiful flowers.
Camellias were her specialty.

I know another special lady who lives in Florida and grows beautiful flowers, including camellias.
Go visit Ms. Fern and tell her Kit sent you!
Thanks!

I wonder if a lot of people who grew up during the Depression weren't like that? It seems that some of my relatives did the same thing.

Morning Ms. K...Aunt Edith sounds a lot like my Annie Ma...(Mama's Mother...the first grandchild could not say Gr so she was Annie Ma). She was a messy hoarder too!!
But oh what fun and what a great cook. Thanks for the memories.

I just wonder how many closet "hoarders" there are and were, that were just considered messy or disorganized?

Love all the flowers on the table!
