Oh My Dog!We really admire your resilience and patience. You actually sat there and counted birds? WoW! we aren't sure we could have resisted chasing them! Love the pictures...:) wags, Buddy, Ginger n Shadow
What a fun thingy to do.. I can't count high enough to do the birds in my yard though. Today I saw 3 robins and a BUNCH of Redwinged Blackbirds. No finches today.. butt some yesterday.
You keep countin... It will be interesting to know what all you see.
Don't you ever run after any of those birds? I would. Mom won't let me run free outside, cause we has really big birds that might carry me off! Licky kisses, Billy
Sassy and Zack, you are the cutest canine bird counters I've seen! So alert and you even know the kinds of birds on your deck!
I love to chase the doves, but Mom says, "no chasing the birds!"
Thanks for the good words, I'm doing better! Hopefully in a week the vet will take off this darn cone and stitches! I hope, I hope, I hope! Licks and sniffs, Raider
Our bird population has increased a bunch in the last couple of weeks!! It would be a full time job counting them!! Good luck!! I am so happy to have better weather finally!!!! I know we will have some more cold but I am happy not to be freezing now and the animals are happy to be outside!!! How is Buddy?? Hugs to you and the Pups Girlfriend, Bambi & Fern
Our birds are slowly coming back....it's nesting time and I love that! Robins, mockingbirds, cardinals, and oh yes, a chicken. She survived below zero temps and I am amazed at her hardiness. Now, if she can just avoid being blown away by a tornado this spring. Thanks for your sweet thoughts while The Hub was in the hospital. He is on the mend, and everyday I see his personality come back to life.
Kit with every animal I have I learn to do better for the next one. Bambi got really lucky or maybe it is all the way it should be! Love your visits...... xxooxx, Fern
Chickadees!!! I miss them from when I lived up north! You pups are great at bird counting. Foster Phoebe counts birds by woofeling like crazy so we would never get past 1 in our back yard!
I taught primary school for 27 years, and loved every minute of it. I am now enjoying retirement on 30+ acres in the north Georgia mountains with my husband and Labrador Retrievers.
When we aren't hanging out in the woods, we enjoy traveling in our RV w/ the dogs. One of our favorite destinations is the Pacific Northwest, especially the Oregon and Washington coasts.
My parents are deceased, I am an only child and have no children; therefore, my husband and dogs are my family.
My blog and blogging friends have taken the place of my classroom and students.
You could say, I've gone from SCHOOL DAYS to DOG DAZE.

Oh such beautiful and helpful pups! You're supposed to be counting birds, not sheep! Keep those eyes open!
We have been watching the birds too - too many to count, they keep flying off and coming back. Yesterday they were so busy! What was your count?

Great job counting. We saw a few robins and one big glen eagle - but we had our eyes set on rabbits instead.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
The Herd only helps to reduce the count and don't think that would be considered helpful.

MOL Sassy and Zack you are the best little helpers a Mom could ever have. Mom says she wishes she was sitting right there with you all counting birds.
It is windy but nice here. Mom and Dad have been in the yard and I've been snoopervising from the perch.

Well, not the most thrilling activity, but something to pass the time for sure. What's with Buddy's photo in the header? Look at that labratongue.

Just being able to sit outside on the deck makes it a great day! Much too cold to be outside up here in NY. :(
