The Land of Enchantment

We’re taking our time, enjoying the scenery, now that we’re on the secondary roads in New Mexico.

Marathon Lake, MS is a beautiful and dog-friendly campground with campsites right on the water. We were the only campers in the entire campground. The dogs were in heaven.

Another good campground is Brantley Lake in New Mexico, although the dogs and I had to ride in the back of the truck to access the lake. Buddy and I sat on the dog crate, like the Beverly Hillbillies.

This is our fourth cross-country trip and the dogs are real troopers n the road. We’ve found that if we stop every other day for a 2 day rest/play, they are happy and ready to roll. This is Buddy’s second trip and I’m pleased that he has matured into an excellent RV dog.

I know driving across the country in a 31 foot RV with 3 labs doesn’t sound like fun to some folks, but to us, it is the ultimate adventure with the ones you love.

We’re headed to The Grand Canyon for our second stay at the North Rim. I hope to see the illusive Kaibab Squirrel again.
I’ll be in touch when I can, and I hope to have a connection long enough to catch up on everyone’s blog. I’m still going through Blogger’s Detox and the withdrawals are Hell!

Happy Trails,

Hi Kit the visual of you and Buddy on a crate like the BH is very vivid.
I actually do think driving across country in an rv with the ones you love sounds absolutely 100% like something I'd enjoy.

Good to hear from y'all! We loved Brantley Lake last year, so peaceful out there!
Good luck finding the Kaibab Squirrel, cute little fellas.
RVing with kids or dogs, what's the difference, y'all together and that's what counts!
Safe travels!

When I was in Vegas, we went took a puddle jumper over to the Grand Canyon....when we got there, we took a helicopter flight down to the bottom of the Canyon....Where they proceeded to greet us with Champagne...later on after the copter flew us back up, we had lunch with the local's, where they made us chicken and tortilla's and maize and more....It was wonderful! In fact, it was the best day that we had on vacation...So I hope you guys have as great a time as we did!!!

Now that sounds like fun. The campsite all to your self. What more could 3 dogs ask for.. Water and freedom...
Enjoy the rest of the trip..

I know the feeling of bloggers detox! I have been in NJ since Sept 5 with "iffy" connections the entire time. The library where I usually park my PC has changed something...the connection was as slow as dial up. I am going to be back in Alaska on 9-20 and looking forward to my regular blog rounds!! Have missed seeing what everyone is up to!!!

Your trip looks like a lot of fun!!! Happy days.
