Oh boy does this bring back memories!! I don't know how in the world we managed to sleep in rollers. Thank goodness I don't have to do it now as it doesn't take much more than a wrinkle in the pillowcase to mess up my sleeping. Madi, on the other hand can sleep anywhere any time!!! Hugs Madi and Mom
Those were the days. Mom remembers those rollers too, how miserable to sleep in them. And we even still have one of those 8 track players gathering dust here.
Great Memories!! My hair is straight as a stick and I would sleep in those things all night get up the next morning take them all out and my hair would fall straight...ugg crazy!!
You look very much like your mother! What a memory..those rollers. Who would have ever thought of going out without doing your hair first!!! Sleeping in them was very hard to do! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
Great post! My best friend had long curly red hair and she used to curl her hair with orange juice cans ( they were metal then). And she could actually sleep in them! Our vanity knew no bounds :) I'll never forget the day (nor will she) that I pierced her ears with ice cubes, a bar of soap and a darning needle. YIKES! We were so brave back then :)
Whew! I sure am glad that I don't have to sleep in those things! It's nice having naturally attractive brindle furs.
My momma says that her grandma would get her hair done once a week and then every night she would wrap her hair in TOILET PAPER to keep her hair-do just right! BOL! Now that's ker-azy!
I taught primary school for 27 years, and loved every minute of it. I am now enjoying retirement on 30+ acres in the north Georgia mountains with my husband and Labrador Retrievers.
When we aren't hanging out in the woods, we enjoy traveling in our RV w/ the dogs. One of our favorite destinations is the Pacific Northwest, especially the Oregon and Washington coasts.
My parents are deceased, I am an only child and have no children; therefore, my husband and dogs are my family.
My blog and blogging friends have taken the place of my classroom and students.
You could say, I've gone from SCHOOL DAYS to DOG DAZE.

You can tell so much about people by the stuff in the background of their pictures? For example, who is that pictured to the right of Snoopy?
I slept on cans in my hair! Cute pic of a cute girl!

My Mom still puts rollers in her hair - I guess habits die hard?
