Dad has been in sunny southern California visiting an old friend.
He should be home by midnight tonight, if his plane is on time.

I know when our Dad was gone to London Bambi looked for him to come home every- day.
The first night she waited out by the gate for him to come home at least 2 hours!!
She was really worried about him. She was so happy when he came home she danced for a long time!!
