Several people have asked me if I'm scared being "home alone?"
I always reply, "Scared of what?"
We live in a rather remote spot and even visitors have trouble finding our house sometimes. Our driveway starts about half a mile off the main road, down a dead end, dusty trail. There's an electric gate at the bottom of our drive and only a fool would hike up to the house. Buddy and I would hear them huffing and puffing well before they reached the house.
I feel safer on the side of this mountain, approximately 15 miles from the Appalachian Trail, than I would living in downtown Atlanta.
Besides, I have a big, bad watchdog to protect me.

Let me share a secret with you.. we live in a populated area (c'mon, which part of Singapore isn't densely populated?) and our mom does not like to be alone at home (even with us pups) because she is afraid of her own shadow!!LOL... every little noise she hears (or imagines) make her nervy... we think she is a wacko case..
I know exactly how you feel. We live in a remote location too and people always ask us if we miss city life. Truthfully, if I could have groceries and dog food flown in, I might never see civilization again!!
Enjoy your solitude.

wow, looks like a beautiful, remote area! big black dogs are good protectors! :) i would feel safer in the boonies too...
Amen to that Kit in the city you never know what/who will come after you next. Your only intruders are long slithering black snakes and hungry deer...sorry about your hostas. I hope your a/c is working and the coke is in the fridge!!!
You and Bud-meister have a good day.

You are still BRAVE!
Although, I felt pretty safe alone when it was blizzarding out. No one could find this place!

I could not agree more. Out in the country, you can see the bogeyman coming! :)
You have a few bad snakes too! That thought alone would scare me off!! Looks beautiful where you live!
Buddy is a magnificent specimen! So happy to see him have his moment in the spotlight! Will he fill in for Sassy's Sayings in the blog? I agree about safety...crime is coming to my little corner of the world. Isolation is infinitely preferable to this constant coming and going of young adults with nothing to do but rob people! Love the view of your spread! SH
That watchdog looks about as fierce as my mom's watchdog!
WOW!
We are furry jealous of your setting - khould woo move it to Pawsylvania please?

The boonies....that's what we used to call where I lived growing up in WV! People always thought we lived far out in the dark, scary boonies. :)
