Best Fur-ever Friends

I love this picture of Zack and Buddy. They both look so happy, knee deep in the lake. (Do dogs have knees?)
If you click to enlarge the picture you can see that Buddy is missing one of his lower canines. He's also missing his upper canine on the opposite side. He was "snaggle-tooth" when we adopted him from the shelter. Our vet suspects he was not "perfectly suitable" for breeding or showing, and was surrendered by his owners. Honestly, would you have noticed it if I hadn't pointed it out?
If you're like me, you're too busy looking at his beautiful brown eyes to notice a couple of missing teeth. As you can see, missing a couple teeth hasn't hindered him at mealtime.

They are happy boys! Imagine being surrendered for missing teeth! Aren't you happy he is yours?! Those other people didn't deserve him. Cami was given up because she was not solid black. Mind you she was not particolored...she was a phantom. Their loss...my gain. SH

Doesn't Zack like the lake, too?
Good thing Buddy hasn't noticed any teeth missing, looks like he's managed very well.

Morning Kit and family,
What an adorable picture of Sassy and Buddy. I too was very engrossed in the ultimate Lab beauty of both of them. All I noticed was the love showing in their eyes and their happy faces.

Happy wet buddies. Speaking of Buddy, who cares if a dog is not "suitable", a dog has a heart of gold and there is NO acceptable reason to give up a trusting soul. My little Toby was taken to Animal Control by his former loser family when they moved (without him of course). He is a perfect dog, he came with manners and has never messed in the house...I have had him since '07. When I took him for his checkup the vet had to remove 10 teeth due to poor care so although his mouth is not"perfect" he is perfect to us!

Missing those teeth only made you look more gentle and handsome, Buddy mate!

Wish I could play with all three of you, especially in the lake!

Dogs definitely have knees... Moose has 1 knee that cost $4000! ;-)
I love that pic too it definitely captures doggie euphoria!
I have heard that dogs can lose their canines and other teeth if they are poorly confined and trying to get out. Sad if that were the reason, but in the long run I think people care more about it than the dog does! He is one handsome boy! SO is Zack but I do love a black lab! Nothing a bridge and a couple of crowns can't fix! I should know! Buddy has a sweet smile in spite of his minor imperfections...or maybe because of them!

Great picture! Great tongue-age! And missing teeth? Good grief! TaiChi has lost a good many teeth to age and is quite the snaggle-puss, but I wouldn't give her away (and neither would Mom and Dad)!
