Sunday is for Family

Mother
Thomaston, Ga
~1984

This is the first and last time Mother was ever on a lawnmower.
The new, red Snapper was a birthday present for my step-father and Mother had to make sure it was in perfect condition.

(Yes, she has on black pantyhose under her jeans.
She wore hose everyday!)

"How do I stop this thing!?!"

Kit I am still smiling from watching the Nevada Humane Society Adoption dance! Very powerful and joyful.

Your Mom was a hoot! She probably had on lipstick and full makeup to mow! I would be happy if Ron bought me a snow blower! That would be fun! But we have a snow plow service so, oh well..... xoxo

Hi there Ms-K...:)
I'm sorry I've not been around for a while, but I took some time - early today (Sunday sleep in) to catch up on your blog...
What a treat it was for me to absorb your WW Video! I was lying in bed taking it all in! I would give my back teeth to be able to walk through such a beautiful forest!!! You have no idea how blessed you are!
It really is so special for me - here on the other end of the world - to be able to experience the sound of a coyote! Thank you for that!
Secondly, I want to say that Sassy is in superb condition!!! She really is lovely and I loved hearing her bark at the end of the video!
Thirdly...what a lovely picture of your mom! Those memories are so precious!
Sending lotsaluv and thank you for joining in the mounting excitement of events this end.

What fun pictures!! I cannot imagine wearing stockings under jeans, especially in this heat but I have to admit that I have--Girls today will probably NEVER know what that feels like! :-))

By the way, I only had one Krispy Kreme the other day! I really did feel that it was important that my friend get the full cultural and historical experience of that area of Virginia...yeah, that's it...

This is a great picture of your mom! Thanks for checking in on us yesterday! We did not have any flooding, but lost power (and internet) for part of the day yesterday because of the storm. Everything seems back to normal today!

Your pal, Pip

How funny!!! Mom says our grandmother always wore her hose too. And our Mom used to ride a Snapper similar to that when did mowed the lawn back in Connecticut. She is very glad she doesn't have to do THAT any more with the Kansas heat.

Oh dear. Seems like the lawn tractor was not her cup of tea, but she was at least game to get aboard.

Momma says that my great grandma wore pantyhose under her pants too. Go figure.
