Monday's Memory-Brandy

Brandy (Golden Retriever) was the first dog I owned as an adult.
I bought her in 1975 while living on campus at the The University of Georgia.
When I visited the breeder another girl was there who wanted Brandy.
The girl was also living on campus and wanted the breeder to hold the pup for two weeks until the quarter ended. The breeder was moving and needed to sell Brandy ASAP, so I bought her and successfully kept her hidden for two weeks.

I sang Golden Ears to Brandy...

modified from David Bowie's Golden Years.

Brandy and I were happy to move to the North Georgia mountains.

Brandy was my first of three Golden Retrievers.

Happy Trails,

Brandy the "hideaway" dog must have had The life. What photos. Made me gushy. I guess I should put Brandy of my list of furiends I plan to visit when the time comes. What? This is a very positive comment and not macabre whatsoever.

Oh she's really pretty! My Pops likes to sing songs to me too, but they rarely make sense and barely rhyme at all.

I'm sure Golden Ears would've been a really sweet song!

Hi Kit,
Love your first dog when you were an adult. Goldens are so pretty, but I love that short hair of the labs. And all the mixes. Of which Bambi is a mix of whippet and lab and a few other things probably!!
For sure lab tho.

How can such small dogs produce so much fur? It is like nothing we have ever experienced. The Mango does not shed like that. I am surprised that there is any hair left on my little brother at all.

I bet his breeder is laughing right now, because she did warn us and momma said oh yeah, whatever, sure, labs shed. Never once suspecting the horror of it.

Slobbers,
Mango
