Do you attend Iditarod to watch it or to participate? I hope you capture it for your blog. I will be eager to see your posts about it, Ms. K! How exciting.
What a fun photo!! Frederick Maryland is only about 20 minutes from where I live here in Virginia!! Thanks for stopping by my blog and your comment! We lived in Anchorage for 10 years and saw several of starts of the Iditarod--It was great fun!!We loved our time and our life there--It's like no other place on earth!! :-)
great picture! amazing how things have changed! love old photos and to try to imagine life back then...hard times to be sure! (and of course i think of my friend Spike, born in 1906 and still with us!! the things he has seen...) xo
Ms. K, We begggggg forgiveness somehow we got so wrapped up in working on downloading the Sweet Friend Award we missed the dog rescue story....which was amazing. Madi and Mom
I love this pic....when you showed it to us the other day, I was thinking that it looked like something my grandmother had worn....and that would be right around the same time frame....so how cool is that!
I wish we still had bathing suits like that! Much less anxiety! When I first read your comment I thought 'well I guess Zack can have all of the margaritas he wants' then I realized I left him out! He was in at one point so I checked him off the list but doggies moved around a lot once they all showed up so it was hard to keep track and I guess he got lost in the shuffle! I added him now and wanted to let you know he is definitely coming along. Sorry he did not make the first try!
That is one way to show today's Sports Illustrated cover girls how it's done! Lovely picture! I imagine the two sisters enjoying a cool ice cream cone later in the day. Hugs, xoxo
Nice photo! I love their bathing suits. I think the world would be a better place if humans covered up more at the beach. Have you seen those new string bikinis? I sure wouldn't wear one. Tsk tsk Twink!
Terrific photo! I've noticed everyone's comments about wishing bathing suits were more like that and less like, well, nothing and I do agree. The other thing I noticed is that your aunts aren't skin and bones. Yay for them! They are real women! Snuggles, Twix
Oh how neat... 1918 huh???? My Mom and Dad got married in 1919.. Daddy had been to the Navy and came home and asked Mama to marry him.. She was 11 yrs. younger.. They were married 49 yrs. when Dad died in 1969. He died in May and their 50th anniversary would have been in Sept. that year. Mom lived til she was 91 yrs. old and died in 1991..
Back in them there days girls did not have to be prefect!!!! No plastic surgery!!! You were what you were!!! The good old days!!! Kiss the kids for me, Fern
I taught primary school for 27 years, and loved every minute of it. I am now enjoying retirement on 30+ acres in the north Georgia mountains with my husband and Labrador Retrievers.
When we aren't hanging out in the woods, we enjoy traveling in our RV w/ the dogs. One of our favorite destinations is the Pacific Northwest, especially the Oregon and Washington coasts.
My parents are deceased, I am an only child and have no children; therefore, my husband and dogs are my family.
My blog and blogging friends have taken the place of my classroom and students.
You could say, I've gone from SCHOOL DAYS to DOG DAZE.
