Although I'm retired, I love to volunteer at school.

Last week, I had the pleasure of serving as a judge for the county-wide Spelling Bee.

I was thrilled that one of my former first graders was a contestant.

My sweet, little first grader has grown into a wonderful young lady.
I'm very proud of you, Chloe!

Very sweet! :) They touch our hearts don't they. I just finished a long-term sub in 4th grade...I was with them from day 1. It was 5 months and their other teacher stopped in once during that time so they were really my class. I miss them so much.

Congratulations to Chloe for making it as a contestant! What a great accomplishment! And your words to Chloe at the end of your post are very heartwarming. What a wonderful teacher you are to write such supportive and loving words to your former student.

Buddy, love your picture and love the quote!

Oh, Buddy, that's a keeper! I want to add it to my teaching collection of quotes! How wonderful to see your student in the contest! Teaching is a life-long endeavor...just like learning. I see your daddy in that pic of you! You look beautiful! SH

Reconnecting with former students is always such a treat. I have kept up with several through Facebook. Retired or not, teaching is a lifelong calling. You look great, btw, Kit!

I know what you mean,Kit! I enjoyed a several years volunteering at my sons' school. They are at an endearing age in the early primary grades, so excited to learn new things! Once they got older, the jr high and high school only wanted parents for all of the fundraisers, not important stuff!

How neat to see one of your students excel like that, Kit.... As an old teacher myself, I know that it's neat to see former students grow up and do well.

Love the post about Cosmo the kitty... Glad Cosmo found his way to your home.

Also--loved seeing the most about the visitor, Max.... I'm sure he enjoyed his time with your guys and I know your guys enjoyed having him...

About 8 inches of snow here now --and it's still snowing.
Hugs,
Betsy

Kit, I think so much of you!!! I would be at your blog everyday and talk to you everyday!!!!!!!! But I have a problem with your blog because I'm on dial-up!!!! It takes 30 to 40 minutes to load even one picture. 20 minutes more for two. Using the refresh button at least 2 times and then not all pics will load. I just don't have that kind of time!! It is the same way on some other blogs too. Some blogs are no trouble at all. I don't know why that is, do you??
Maybe I should just e mail you all the time. But I wish I could see your pictures and your videos!!!!
Love you all, Fern
