Monday's Memory-Cosmo Kitty

On a cold, January day in 1993, a beautiful yellow cat showed up on our front porch.
He was wearing a collar and appeared well fed.
I called all my neighbors, asking if they had lost a cat. No luck!
I put up "FOUND CAT" signs, called the radio station, local vet and shelter to see if anyone had reported a missing cat. Nope!
I didn't want to become attached to this pretty kitty as I knew he must be someone's pet.
After he had been with us a couple of weeks, I decided I had given it my best effort, and he was now my kitty.
That evening we were watching the episode of Seinfeld when Kramer's name (Cosmo) was disclosed.
Cosmo Kitty had his name and a new home!
He crossed the Bridge after sharing his love with us 13 years.

Happy Trails,

Cosmo looks a lot like my boy Quiche. I brought him home from work with me one day and he brightened my life for 19 years.

K~ He's absolutely beautiful. Some of my fondest memories of past pets are of a chubby orange and white tabby. He was larger than life and reminds me so much of your Cosmo. Thanks for sharing him with us.

Cosmo Kitty was a beautiful boy!! Your story reminds me of my sister's late all white shepherd, Rex. Rex wandered into Susan's yard many years ago, she did the same as you for CK but no one claimed him so she kept him for the rest of his lovely life. She ultimately thinks someone dumped Rex, but he found a forever happy home. She misses him to this day. They had an in-ground pool and Rex did not like people in it!! He would run around the pool and fret until the pool was empty. Funny habit, it was... Thanks for the happy memory, Kit... xoxo

That's a great story and a wonderful memory. You were very generous to share your home with a cat. (We can't say the same for ourselves...)

Hope you had a great Valentine's Day!

Oh Ms. K thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures of Cosmo Kitty. Absolutely precious. His color reminds me of the colors of a delicious Dream Sicile....(spelling)

It sounds like Cosmo was meant to find you all. People ask us if we're thinking of getting a third dog after our yellow crossed in May. We both feel that we're waiting to see if a dog appears who needs us... because that's what happened with our yellow lab, and it was wonderful!

Sweet story about a sweet cat. I once had a manx named Stubby. He is long gone, but he still holds a spot in my heart. He was so affcetionate and loved to be stroked and petted and would give love in return.

I love the name! Maybe he had the same physical humor as his namesake? Great photos in the collage.

Cosmo knew a great home when he saw one. He was a very handsome boy.

Cosmo kitty was really pretty!!! Happy just showed up one day too.
In my experience some one just moved and left a kitty or the kitty doesn't like something at home and says I can do better!!!!
I have gotten many kitties that way!!!

Cosmo Kitty was homeless for a minute :) What a lovely story. Good thing you practice your self restraint and didn't become attached, for thirteen years. All our humans are wonderful. You and Cosmo were lucky to have each other for so long.

Beautiful Kitty! You were very lucky that he picked you ;-) It is such a mystery to me when well cared for pets end up in this situation. Thank goodness for microchips (not sure they had them back then though!)
Anyway, thanks for sharing. That is a great name too.
