And there were no computer conversations then! I know you were sad! It must have been nice once your daddy was home all the time. But the meal looks great! Love the Sunday posts!
That must have been hard on you, on your whole family. I'm grateful to your family for the sacrifice. Indeed, when someone goes off to war it is the entire family that sacrifices so very much.
I can see you didn't look happy at all. God Bless him for his service to our country.
I remember Sundays with family though. My grandmother would fix everything for dinner and all my aunts, uncles, cousins and myself and my mother would eat and spent the day talking and the kids playing. I really miss those days. Lots of love, Holly and mom
Military life can be hard on families. You were fortunate to have so many family members around, but I know it was hard in spite of that. I always love the news stations that report on happy reunions and especially the surprises at school when Dad or Mom show up after being gone.
I taught primary school for 27 years, and loved every minute of it. I am now enjoying retirement on 30+ acres in the north Georgia mountains with my husband and Labrador Retrievers.
When we aren't hanging out in the woods, we enjoy traveling in our RV w/ the dogs. One of our favorite destinations is the Pacific Northwest, especially the Oregon and Washington coasts.
My parents are deceased, I am an only child and have no children; therefore, my husband and dogs are my family.
My blog and blogging friends have taken the place of my classroom and students.
You could say, I've gone from SCHOOL DAYS to DOG DAZE.

When I first looked at the pic, I was wondering what was wrong with you :(
Love the old pictures. My "Dad" was in S. Korea for 3 years, but long after 1962.
You are so fortunate to have so many family pictures! They sure do make those memories come tumbling back!
Have a nice Sunday!

My Father was in the army so I remember those days prior to his leaving and know just how you felt...
