Lance Mackey is expected to cross under the Burled Arch in Nome either late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.
My friend, Janet, is in Nome anxiously awaiting his arrival.
That's when the real party begins!!!!
SHAKTOOLIK, Alaska (AP) — Lance Mackey continues to lead the 1,100-mile Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, being the first to reach the wind-swept village of Shaktoolik (Shak-TOO'-lick).

Sixty-seven teams began the race on March 8. Four teams have scratched and one was withdrawn.
