I lived in Savannah, Ga for many years. Savannah has the second largest St. Patty's Day celebration in the country. One of the favorite units in the parade is the local Shriner's Alee Temple, Oriental Band, which consisted of a bunch of fun- loving guys who enjoy dressing up in outlandish outfits (including gold painted brogans, with turned up toes and bells) and playing funny instruments. The parade crowd goes crazy when the Oriental Band strolls by.
EVERYONE IS IRISH ON ST. PATTY'S DAY,
including my Polish Dad!

Loved the photo - looked like your dad was having a great time!!
Happy st. patty's day!
Gotta love those Shriners! My Grandfather played the sax in the Shriners band in WA for many years!! Loved the parades!
Knowing your dad didn't normally wear pink makes the picture all that more fun. Great memories of your hometown.
