See Bo run!
According to USA Today, Bo, the Obama's new Portie pup, will be the subject of an upcoming children's book, “Bo, America’s Commander in Leash,” expected in stores at the end of April.
The poor pooch isn't even housebroken and he already has a book deal.
I suppose TMZ will be on his tail soon!
Why can't he just be a dog who happens to live in a big white house with a loving family?!?
Does everything have to be commercialized?
I'm thrilled the Obama girls got their pup, as I believe every home deserves a dog and every dog deserves a home.
However, since the Obamas opted not to get Bo from a Portie rescue or shelter, it would be nice if some of the profits from the book went to rescue organizations.
Of course, as a retired first grade teacher, I believe anything that encourages kids to read is a GOOD thing!
Happy Trails,

I'm glad the Obama girls got their dog. It does seem like everything that can get commercialized, does. That's a nice idea about the profits.
See ya!

I agree that everyone seems commercialized and we'll probably hear my excrutiating details about this dog more than we care too. But on that note, I am an animal lover and anxious for my own dog!
He is a cutie!!! I just hope he is loved as a family member and not just part of a public relations program. Wonder why the girls could not have a pet before and what happens when they leave the White House. Anyway, I will enjoy watching him grow up. I did so love the Bush 1 and 2 dogs! And Clinton's Buddy and Socks! SH
We totally agree!

Now we can get back to the real political issues :) And there are plenty! Agreed on the reading thing though...
I agree - Bo is a dog and deserves a great family, they are a great family, who just happen to live in the white house. Let's leave the dog to be a dog. Proceeds from the book should definitely go to aiding. Now let the man do his job.
: ) We think Bo is a cutie!
Nice that the girls will have a nice dag to love and grow with. Bo is a very unusual dog. I had not heard of that breed before.
It is a shame the poor pooch must be commercialized already.
I am glad they got their dog, I wish it were a rescue too, and hopefully the profits do go to a good charity. =)
I heard that Bo came from a home where he was not working out... if that is true I would consider that a sort of indirect rescue since he might have been given up to a shelter or rescue. Unless that is a sort of cover for coming from a breeder? Anywho... aggreed on all your comments. Esp re: profits going to rescue. I was happy to see mahlia working on training and hand signals already so that is good.
